ADAD is a 24-hour passive, high performance automatic alerting system, which detects airborne targets at ranges and altitudes compatible with VSHORAD/SHORAD weapons and sensors, over a very wide coverage area. The alerting, allocation of targets in priority order, and provision of accurate weapon system cueing, increases the effectiveness and kill probability of Close Air Defence Weapons Systems. Throughout its development, ADAD has continued to meet the evolving air threat, yet features low weight, low power, high reliability and ease of maintenance, in addition to the primary performance requirements of long target detection range and low false alarm rate.
